The Ram Janmabhoomi temple trust will hold a two-day congregation of 'Ram bhakts' on the banks of the Saryu river in Ayodhya from October 15 to demand possession of the disputed site in Ayodhya.

"With a favourable report, the Archaelogical Survey of India has vindicated our stand [that a temple existed at the spot where Babri Masjid stood before it was demolished] and now there is no looking back," the trust chief Mahant Nritya Gopal Das told reporters in Kochi.

The Mahant is in Kochi to take part in Mata Amritanandamayi's 50th birthday celebrations.

Asked whether he expected any opposition from the Uttar Pradesh government, he said: "We are very well aware what he [Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav] did to kar sevaks some years back. But we warn -- any government which has antagonised devotees of Ram has not lasted long."

Reiterating the trust's demand for a legislation to build a temple at the disputed site, the Mahant asked: "What is the hassle when around 95 per cent of Parliament is constituted of Hindu members?"
