The Mumbai police on Wednesday said they have not received any information from Dubai about the detention of Zahid Patni, prime accused in the August 25 blasts in Mumbai.
Police sources had said on Tuesday that Patni had been detained in Dubai and would be deported soon.
Patni was instrumental in brainwashing two co-accused who had executed the explosions, killing 52 people, Joint Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh said.
The police are trying to find the exact role played by him in the blasts, he added.
Till now, the police have learnt that he was instrumental in arranging the meeting of co-accused Hanif and Arshad in Dubai, Singh added.
Patni was also a member of the Gujarat Muslim Revenge Group, which had carried out the blasts, he said.
