Pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen on Saturday said it carried out series of attacks on security forces to counter government claims that Operation Sarp Vinash in Surankote recently had dented the striking capability of militants in Jammu and Kashmir.

Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Tayiba cadres had also participated in the attacks, a spokesman of the outfit, Junaidul Islam, said in a faxed statement in Srinagar.

The Hizb expected such 'joint ventures' to continue in future, he added.

The attacks included 'mine blasts, ambushes and guerilla strikes to prove the presence of our network across the state and the potential to deal severe blows to the Indian forces', Islam said.

He claimed that 102 security personnel were killed and 126 injured in the attacks.
