Girl dies in Srinagar grenade attack

Militants on Thursday morning threw a grenade at Lal Chowk, Srinagar, killing a girl, Rehana Hamid, and injuring 14 persons.

The attack was on a Border Security Force bunker, but the grenade missed its target and exploded on the roadside.

The injured were taken to hospital where the condition of three persons was said to be serious.

Meanwhile, an intense gun battle broke out between security forces and four militants in Bandi Chachian area of Poonch district.

One militant will killed in the encounter, officials said, adding efforts were on to get the other three.
