The All-Parties Hurriyat Conference executive council has decided to issue show cause notices to the 13 dissidents who on Sunday 'sacked' the separatist conglomerate's chairman Moulvi Abbas Ansari.
The decision was taken after four members of the seven-member executive met at the APHC's headquarters in Raj Bagh on Monday.
The meeting, convened by Ansari, was boycotted by three important constituents -- namely, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, People's League and Jamaat-e-Islami.
The members who attended, besides Ansari, were Professor Abdul Gani Bhatt, Awami Action Committee's Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and the People Conference's Bilal Ghani.
Bhatt said the executive has authorised Umar Farooq to call a meeting of all APHC basic members to arrive at a
consensus.
The Hurriyat Conference had split vertically on Sunday after 13 members of its general council decided to oust Ansari and suspend his executive.
"We are thankful to the group of 13 for providing us an opportunity to reactivate our basic units," Bhatt said.
Earlier on Monday, supporters of Ansari and Umar Farooq had stormed the APHC headquarters.
