Some arrested Jaish-e-Mohammad militants have identified the body of Ghazi Baba substantiating the Border Security Force's claim the outfit's top terrorist was killed in an encounter on Saturday.
Highly placed Jammu and Kashmir government sources said the militants were brought to Srinagar on Sunday morning by Jammu and Kashmir police to identify the body and they confirmed it was of their leader.
The militant outfit in a statement had denied that Ghazi Baba was killed in the encounter.
Director General of state Police Gopal Sharma said, "We have carried out all necessary checks and are of firm opinion that the killed militant is Ghazi Baba."
