Fake stamp paper racket: Six Pune cops suspended

Six Pune police officials, including an inspector, have been suspended on charges of giving special treatment to the four accused arrested in connection with the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket, police said on Friday. The suspended inspector is D T Kharche.

The four accused who were allegedly given special treatment in the court on Thursday include Samajwadi Janata Party MLA Anil Gote, suspended Assistant Police Inspector (Crime Branch, Mumbai [ Images ]) Dilip Kamath, Rashid Kulkarni, who is the lawyer of prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi, and Abdul Aziz Telgi. They have been charged with stringent sections of Maharashtra [ Images ] Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
