Besides enjoying the hospitality of Rajasthan's royalty, Prince Charles has also reserved some time for the common man. Included in his itinerary is a visit to a water-harvesting project run by Magsaysay Award winner Rajendra Singh at Bhaonta, Alwar district.

The heir to the British throne will spend three days in the state on a personal visit.

He will be accorded a welcome reserved for a maharaja on his arrival at the city palace, home to the royal family of Jaipur, in Jaipur on Friday. The prince would meet maharani Gayatri Devi in the evening while Brigadier Bhawani Singh (retd), the head of the family, will host a special 'royal dinner' in his honour. On Saturday, he will spend some time with students of the Palace School.

On Sunday, he will fly to Alwar.

He is also expected to visit Jodhpur where he would meet the ex-ruler Gaj Singh and visit the spectacular Mehrangarh Fort.

He will leave for Mumbai on Monday, official sources told PTI.
