Pakistan has denied that Mumbai underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, whom the US has declared as a 'global terrorist', is living in Karachi.

"Dawood is neither a Pakistani citizen, nor does he live in Karachi," Pakistan Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told reporters in Islamabad.
Pakistan would act if any country furnished information about his whereabouts, he said, without referring to Indian communication to Pakistan in the past asking for his repatriation.
"If somebody is aware of his whereabouts, we will receive and act on that information. The government has nothing to do with the people being identified as members of the underworld," he said.
The US Treasury Department had on Thursday designated Dawood Ibrahim, based in Karachi with a Pakistan passport, as a "specially designated global terrorist," saying he has links with the Al Qaeda and is financing activities of Lashkar-e-Tayiba and other Islamic extremists to destabilize the Indian government.
