The Maharashtra government on Wednesday said it will take its case against film producer Bharat Shah to the Bombay high court.

A special court in Mumbai on Wednesday sentenced Shah to one year in prison for concealing information from investigating agencies. He was, however, acquitted of the charge of using slush funds to finance his films.
As Shah has already spent 14 months in jail, he will not be required to serve the imprisonment.
Producer Nasim Rizvi and his assistant Abdul Rahim Allahbaksh Khan were sentenced to six years' rigorous imprisonment each for forging links with Pakistan-based gangster Chhota Shakeel to extort money from film personalities.
Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said it's the first time that somebody from Bollywood has been convicted for links with the underworld.
