Shinde meets governor

Maharashtra [ Images ] Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde called on Governor Mohammed Fazal on Monday amidst indications of mounting pressure on his government to handover the investigations into the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

No sooner than Fazal arrived from a visit to the national capital, Shinde rushed to the Raj Bhavan and was closeted with the governor for nearly half-an-hour, official sources said.

Shinde declined to divulge details of the meeting saying it "is an administrative matter."

Fazal, during his Delhi [ Images ] tour, had met Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani [ Images ] and discussed the fake stamp-paper scam.
