A four-storied building of Dunlop India Limited housing its district sales office and godown at Mirza Ghalib Street in Kolkata was completely destroyed this morning in a massive fire.
Nobody was injured in the incident, fire brigade sources said, adding that the building had been closed for more
than two years.
Thirty fire tenders were used to douse the fire, they said.
The fire was reported at around 5.20 am and a part of the building collapsed at around 6.15 am, Fire Brigade Officer D P Biswas said.
Forensic experts have been asked to ascertain the cause of the fire and an FIR has been lodged with the Park Street
police.
Dunlop officials said they came to know about the fire at about 6 am.
"We don't know anything apart from that. Police will investigate and say how the fire was caused. There was
practically nothing in the building," they said.
