Justice M S Liberhan and his four-member team on Sunday visited some areas near the Sarayu river in Ayodhya.
They visited the Naya bank and went round Panchkosi Parikrama Marg to see what possible routes the karsevaks had taken while entering the town before the demolition of the Babri masjid on December 6, 1992, official sources said.
According to reliable sources, the old Parikrama Marg was believed to be the main route for the karsevaks, who reached Ayodhya from various parts of the country.
The team visited the acquired land for the second time and spent about two hours at the site.
Tight security arrangements had been made for the visit.
The team, which completed its two-day visit on Sunday, left for Delhi after holding an informal meeting with the top officials in Ayodhya.
