The All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Friday received a letter from Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati containing fresh proposals for the settlement of the Ayodhya issue.
The communication was received in the office of the AIMPLB Chairman Maulana Rabe Hasan Nadwi in Lucknow, the board's spokesman Maulana Sajjad Nomani said.
He said Nadwi, who is presently in Rae Bareilly, would open the letter containing the proposals.
After going through the contents of the seer's letter, the board would consider the proposed formula, Nomani said.
But the Babri Masjid Committee of the AIMPLB said that it will not consider the new proposals in its next meeting scheduled in New Delhi on Saturday.
Talking to the rediff.com on phone from Munger the AIMPLB general secretary and the Imarat-e-Shariah of Munger, Maulana Nizamuddin, said the BMC meeting has been convened on a two-fold agenda of discussing the issue of Archeological Survey of India's digging at the disputed Ayodhya site and the issue of Liberhan Commission hearings.
