Former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Rajendra Singh, popularly known as Rajju Bhaiyya, died in Pune on Monday.
He was 81.
Rajju Bhaiyya was unwell for quite some time and was resting at Pune Ashram, where he breathed his last, RSS sources said.
.The cremation will take place in Pune on Tuesday.
Rajju Bhaiyya was a professor of physics in Allahabad University before becoming a full time pracharak of the RSS in the early sixties.
He 1994 he became sarsanghachalak, taking over the reins of the outfit from Balasaheb Dattatreya Deoras.
In 2000, owing to ill health, he decided to hand over his responsibility to K S Sudarshan.
