Newly appointed Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray on Friday ruled out any change in the functioning of the party.
Addressing his maiden press conference in Mumbai he said the Sena would continue to work on the agenda of staunch Hindutva laid down by party supremo Bal Thackeray.
The press conference centered on the change in the style of functioning of the Sena. Uddhav is considered a soft-spoken and mild mannered person compared to his father, known for his aggressive posture.
Downplaying reports of a rift between him and his cousin Raj Thackeray, Uddhav said, "He will work with me in building the party."
Asked if he would accept the post of Chief Minister if Shiv Sena-BJP comes to power or would like to play a kingmaker's role, Uddav indicated that he would continue to adhere to the family's tradition of not accepting any post in the government.
