Four persons were arrested on Thursday under the National Security Act for their alleged involvement in the January 14 incident at Ganjbasoda township of Vidisha district in Madhya Pradesh.

Ganjbasoda had witnessed arson after reported recovery of a cow's head from the house of a Muslim youth.

The police said the four are: Yashpal Yadav, Chandrashekhar Dubey, Sunil Yadav and Santa Maharaj.

Police added that the total number of person charged under the NSA has gone up to seven.

Kishore Takla, Sunil Khateek and Radheshyam Nai, of the 43 arrested in connection of the incident, had earlier been charged under the NSA.

Officials said Lok Sabha member from Vidisha, Shivraj Singh Chauhan and some other BJP leaders had gone to the Kotwali in Ganjbasoda for the surrender of 17 persons in this connection.

BJP workers surrounded the Kotwali demanding the three, against whom the NSA was invoked, not be sent to the Bhopal jail.

Later, an agreement was reached between the BJP workers and local administration that the trio would be sent to Sagar jail.
