Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde will take charge of the urban development and co-operation, and general administration and urban land ceiling portfolios, which were held by his predecessor Vilasrao Deshmukh.
He has allocated home and revenue to Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and Shivajirao Bhaurao Patil Nilangekar respectively.
Announcing the allocation of portfolios on Monday, the chief minister entrusted former MPCC chief Govindrao Adik with agriculture, law and judiciary and Patangrao Kadam with industries and legislative affairs portfolios.
Shinde will also retain portfolios relating to information and publicity, earthquake rehabilitation and other departments not allocated to others.
The finance and planning portfolio has been given to Jayant Patil from the Nationalist Congress Party, and energy and higher technical education allocated to NCP leader Dilip Walse-Patil.
Vikramsingh Ranjith Sinh will take charge of public works department, while dairy development and fisheries will be looked after Anandrao Narayanrao Deokate.
Rural development, water supply and sanitation has been entrusted to NCP leader R R Patil while Jaywant Gangaram has been given portfolios of social justice, women and child development.
NCP leader Digvijay Khanvilkar has retained the portfolio for public health and will also handle the departments for family welfare and medical education.
Congress leader Surupsinh Hirya Naik will head the forest and environment departments while the irrigation and horticulture department has been entrusted to Anant Rao Pawar.
