Security forces on Wednesday seized 61 improvised explosive devices and arrested four militants of the Hizbul Mujahideen during a search operation in Uri in Baramullah district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police sources said that the police and army conducted searches in Limbar, Shahkote and Binger villages in Uri and arrested Ghulam Mohammed War [launching commander], Raqib Jan [section commander] and two others.

Apart from the IEDs, 33 under-barrel grenade launchers, 100 detonators, one wireless set, 400 rounds and ten hand grenades were found.

This is for the first time that the security forces have seized so many IEDs in Kashmir.
