Under repeated attack from her coalition partner, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Sunday met Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani and complained about Bharatiya Janata Party leaders airing their grievances in public.
"I suggested to the deputy prime minister that he call me and his party leaders from the state so that problems can be sorted out. He agreed to my suggestion," Mayawati said in New Delhi.
"This business of them [BJP leaders] going to the press with every little thing must stop," the chief minister said.
BJP sources said the two leaders felt the need to have a coordination committee to ensure that differences are settled amicably.
The Mayawati government has come under flak from the BJP leaders on a number of issues, including the arrest of legislator Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya and his father Udai Pratap Singh.
