Uma Bharti, the newly appointed chairperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party's campaign coordination committee, on Thursday said that her party would win the assembly election in Madhya Pradesh.

Accusing the ruling Congress government of failure on all fronts, Bharti, in a dig at Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, said that lack of performance by incumbent governments always led to defeat.

"I really don't see any reason for the BJP to face a third consecutive defeat in the assembly elections," Bharti said adding that she 'firmly believes that even in the last two elections the people of Madhya Pradesh were with the BJP, but the party failed because of lack of proper management'.

Asked why, in spite of her campaigning, the party had lost in the last two polls she said she 'did not then have the responsibility of ensuring the victory'. "I am a person who can deliver the goods and this time I will do it.

"In the last elections the party failed to translate its support into votes."

The BJP leader also said that by exposing the irregularities in the list of voters she had begun 'her work in right earnest'.
