Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati would expand her ministry on Tuesday to accommodate four breakaway Congress MLAs who joined her Bahujan Samaj Party on Monday.
The swearing-in would take place at 1700 IST, chief minister's Principal Secretary P L Puniya told PTI in Lucknow on Monday night.
The four legislators are Kameshwar Updhaya, Virendra Singh Bundela, Kazim Ali Khan and Shyam Narayan Tiwari.
Eight Congress MLAs broke ranks with the party recently and formed the Akhil Bharatiya Congress Dal. Four of them on Monday joined the BSP.
Mayawati had reportedly said only those Congress MLAs who would join the BSP would be inducted into the ministry.
