Delhi experienced the coldest night of the season even as dense fog continued to affect air, rail and road services on Tuesday.

The capital recorded 5 degrees Celsius temperature on Monday night, one degree lower than the previous night and the lowest so far this season, the Meteorological Department said.
Complicating the problems was the increase in the density of the fog that had enveloped Delhi since late Monday night. It had reduced visibility to 10metres in the night affecting air and rail services.
Flight take-offs from Indira Gandhi International Airport were suspended for some time leading to disruption in flight schedules. At least six incoming flights were diverted to other airports, an airport spokesman said. However, some flights equipped with sophisticated low visibility landing systems continued to use the airport, he said.
Low visibility also affected rail services leading to rescheduling of several trains. Motorists had to use headlights and moved at a snail's pace in the morning.
