A top officer of the Mumbai police was on Sunday questioned again by the Special Investigating Team probing the multicrore fake stamp paper scam.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Pradip Sawant (special branch) was quizzed for three hours by S S Puri, SIT chief, at its Worli office.
Sawant had been questioned earlier by the SIT thrice in Pune.
The SIT had a few days ago arrested R B Yenam, Assistant Commissioner of Police Navi Mumbai, who was attached to Dharavi unit of Mumbai police under DCP Pradip Sawant when the case was registered against the prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi in 1995.
Sawant was questioned on alleged lapses in this probe, SIT sources said.
The SIT is also probing the alleged role of Sawant into allegations of transfer of police officials at the instance of Telgi.
Sawant was allowed to go after questioning.
