Forensic experts have come to the conclusion that RDX was used in the two blasts that rocked Mumbai on Monday killing 52 people and injuring over 130.

The State Forensic Laboratory came to this conclusion after examining samples collected immediately after the blasts at the Gateway of India and Kalbadevi, SFL Director Dr Rukmini Krishnamurthy told PTI.

"The explosive must have been kept in the trunk of the taxis (cabs) and the CNG cylinders added to the high-explosive device's impact," she said.

The tissues of some of the mutilated bodies, where identification by relatives was impossible, have been sent to the forensic lab for identification by the DNA fingerprinting technique, Krishnamurthy said.
