Cross-border terrorism remains a very important issue on the US agenda, according to the state department.
While there has been some decrease in cross-border terrorism, the US is still concerned about it, state department spokesperson Richard Boucher said on Wednesday.
"There is still some activity going on that needs to be stopped and it remains a very important issue on our agenda with Pakistan," he said.
Responding to reports that Pakistan is setting up an antiterrorism force that will be trained by the US, Boucher said the US "does a lot of terrorism cooperation with Pakistan, obviously."
The US Office of Antiterrorism Assistance, which is part of the Diplomatic Security Bureau, began a 15-week course in counterterrorism investigation in Pakistan on July 7.
"We are also providing crisis response team training. This is all part of our ongoing effort to assist the Government of Pakistan in the fight against international terrorism.
"As you know, Pakistan is a key ally in the global war against terrorism. We are committed to assisting them to building their capabilities," he added.
