A court on Monday granted bail to VHP leader Pravin Togadia, who was arrested for violating a ban on distribution of tridents and making an inflammatory speech at a function in Ajmer in Rajasthan on April 13.
The VHP leader had been in judicial custody since April 13.
His bail application was accepted by District and Sessions Judge Hari Singh Punia.
The court told Togadia to furnish a bond of Rs 40,000 and not to repeat violation of prohibitory orders and the ban on tridents, District Collector Niranjan Arya told PTI.
As soon as the judge ordered Togadia's release on bail, VHP and Bajrang Dal activists, who had gathered outside the court, raised slogans of 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Togadia tum sangharsh karo, hum tumhare saath hain' (Togadia, you carry on the fight, we are with you).
