Rama Kant Ram of the Patna Kotwali police station has filed a complaint with the Gaya police against Surendra Prasad Yadav, minister of state for excise and a member of the Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi-led ruling party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
Ram has accused Yadav for holding him and his colleagues captive in Yadav's house in Gaya along with an accused, Atul, who was being brought from Gujarat.
Atul Prakash Sinha, son of B K Sinha, an accused in the multi-crore Fodder Scam, was arrested in connection with a fraud case and was being brought to Bihar by the police led by sub-inspector Rama Kant Ram.
On April 4, when the train arrived at the Gaya Junction, Gandhi, who was part of the entourage as a witness in the case, alighted and took the accused and the policemen to Surendra Yadav's house.
After reaching there, Atul Sinha was locked in a room and beaten mercilessly for two days.
The policemen were confined in another room and not allowed to intervene.
The SI managed to escape from the minister's house on the night of April 6 and informed the Gaya superintendent of police Ravindran Shankaran about the incident.
Yadav has denied his involvement and termed the case as a conspiracy by his political rivals to defame him.
Ram also lodged police complaints against the RJD's member of the legislative council Azad Gandhi and Pappu Yadav, brother in law of RJD MLC Subhas Yadav, younger brother of Rabri Devi.
Interestingly, a case has also been filed against SI Ram for taking Atul to Gaya. The SI has been charged with concealing facts from the Gaya police for two days.
When the condition of Atul deteriorated due to the alleged torture by his captors, the SI feared he might succumb to his injuries in 'police custody' and hence informed the Gaya SP on Sunday night.
