Mughalsarai-Gaya route to be partially opened to rail traffic by Thursday

Anand Mohan Sahay in Patna

Resumption of normal train services on the Mughalsarai-Gaya section of the Eastern Railway will take at least one month's time, Divisional Railway Manager (Mughalsarai division) K K Saxena said on Wednesday.

The derailment of the Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express near Rafiganj in Bihar's Aurangabad district has badly damaged both the Up and Down tracks, he said.

However, Saxena is confident that at least one of the lines could be opened for rail traffic by Thursday noon.
