POTA court extends Vaiko's remand till September 30

A Prevention of Terrorism Act court in Chennai on Wednesday extended the judicial remand of the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary, Vaiko, till September 30.

He was taken back to the Vellore prison, after the court order.

Vaiko was arrested on July 11 on his return from the United States for his alleged pro-Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam remarks at a public meeting in Thirumangalam, near Madurai on June 29 last.
