R K Sharma moves application
for release of attached assets

Suspended Haryana IG (Prisons) Ravi Kant Sharma, prime suspect in the Indian Express journalist Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, has moved an application before a Delhi court seeking release of his assets worth nearly Rs 20 million (Rs two crore), including bank accounts, attached by the Delhi Police before his surrender.

Metropolitan Magistrate J P Narain has told the police to file a reply by October 8.

In his application, Sharma submitted that the law did not permit the police to hold on to his property after he had surrendered.
