Salman Khan did not
own the vehicle: Police

Is Salman Khan Doomed? | Controversy's Child

In another twist to the accident case involving Salman Khan, the Mumbai police on Friday said the actor did not own the vehicle that ploughed into a bakery on September 28, killing one person and injuring four.

"The Toyota Landcruiser that Salman was allegedly driving did not belong to him," Joint Commissioner (law and order) Ahmed Javed, who is probing the case, told PTI.

The vehicle is registered in the name of Abdul Rahim and the police is trying to locate him.

Ahmad was asked to head the probe by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal following a public outrage over the accident.

On Thursday, the police had begun investigating whether Salman Khan possesses a driving licence.
