Salman Khan asked to surrender passport

Is Salman Khan Doomed? | Controversy's Child

The Mumbai police on Friday asked actor Salman Khan to surrender his passport until the completion of the probe into the accident in Bandra on September 28.

The actor allegedly rammed his Toyota Landcruiser into a bakery killing one and injuring four, who were sleeping outside it.

Joint Commissioner of Police (law and order) Ahmed Javed, who is conducting the probe into the accident, issued the orders.

The actor has been asked not to leave the country and cooperate with the police. He has also been asked to attend Bandra police station as and when required, police sources said.

Singer Kamaal Khan, prime witness in the case, was on Thursday questioned by the police.

He would be called again to give a statement, the sources added.

Kamaal was with Salman when the actor's vehicle was involved in the accident.

Salman often goes abroad on film shootings. As he is required to surrender his passport, the actor cannot leave the country and will have to obtain prior permission from police if he has to go abroad.
