Four killed, IED recovered in Jammu

Four persons, including a woman, were killed and one person was injured in separate incidents of violence in Doda, Poonch and Udhampur districts, even as security forces defused improvised explosive devices in Doda.

The woman and her brother were caught in a crossfire between security forces and militants at the Hari-Marhot village in Surankote tehsil of Poonch district on Monday. The injured brother was later rushed to the sub-district hospital in Surankote.

In two separate incidents ultras killed one person in Thachi village in Banihal area of Doda district and another in Shoran Bhli village.

Meanwhile, the police recovered the body of Feteh Mohhamad, whose throat had been slit, from the Gool tehsil forest area of Udhampur district. He had been abducted from his house in Hill Dalwa village.

Security forces also recovered 10kgs of IED planted in a shop in Sumber village of Doda on Monday evening after receiving a tip-off. The experts later defused the IED.
