Twelve militants killed in Poonch district

Twelve militants who tried to sneak into India by crossing the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir were early on Saturday morning shot dead by security forces.

This morning, security forces noticed movement of militants near the LoC in the Chaprian-Swajian area in Poonch district and asked them to surrender, defence sources said.

However, the militants opened fire forcing the security forces to retaliate, they said.

One jawan was injured in the incident, they said.
