Advani condemns Lone's killing

Sheela Bhatt in New Delhi

Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani on Tuesday condemned the killing of All Party Hurriyat Conference leader Abdul Gani Lone.

Unidentified men killed Lone at a rally in Srinagar on Tuesday.

The home minister said that the murder was connected to the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

"The terrorists and enemies of our country don't want the people to take part in the election," he said.

Advani said everyone knew that Lone was deeply involved in the peace process.
