"We will continue to support the central government, as we did in past," Gandhi said while describing the attack as 'most shameful'.
Gandhi made these remarks while talking to newspersons after visiting the site of the attack, a hospital where the injured are being treated and spending some time with the kin of those who had lost their lives in the incident.
Major General Mohan Pandey, GOC, 26 Infantry Division, briefed Sonia Gandhi about Tuesday's suicide attack.
"We had supported the central government after the attack on Parliament and also when it had announced a unilateral ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir a year ago," she said.
Gandhi said she was particularly pained by the death of children and women and added that the killers should be punished at all costs.
