POTA a lame law to fight terrorism: Togadia

Vishwa Hindu Parishad general secretary Praveen Togadia on Sunday dubbed the Prevention of Terrorism Act as a 'lame' law, which would not help fight terrorism.

"Although the POTA is a much stronger law than those that existed before it, it is still not potent enough to fight terrorism," Togadia said in Bhopal.

He said that the country needs much stronger laws than POTA to fight terrorism, laws as are in force in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Coming down heavily on Congress and the Samajwadi Party for its opposition to POTA, Togadia said, "These two parties are opposing the act to gain minority votes."
