At least 30 people have been arrested in connection with the attack on a church in Islamabad on March 17, in which two Americans were among five killed, the Pakistani police said on Thursday.
The arrests were carried out after overnight raids in Faisalabad, Punjab, the police said.
Though the police did not release the identities of the arrested people, some reports said that four Taliban militiamen were among the arrested people.
An agency report quoting Faisalabad police chief Tassadaq Hussain said that the police faced heavy gunfire from militants during raids at hideouts. He said that one person was killed and four injured in the firing exchange.
A lone assailant lobbed several grenades into a congregation of mainly expatriate worshippers in the Protestant International Church in Islamabad's well-guarded diplomatic enclave during Sunday morning prayers on March 17.
