Suggesting that American journalist Daniel Pearl had been "over-intrusive", Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Thursday said he would consider extraditing Sheikh Omar Saeed, the key accused in the Wall Street Journal reporter's abduction and subsequent murder, to the United States after the completion of probe in his country.
The president was answering a question by an Indian correspondent at the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Information Ministers conference in Islamabad.
"We have our own laws and we are examining the matter," he said.
Musharraf said the Pearl had come from Mumbai and "made intrusion into the areas which are dangerous and he should have avoided it".
"Perhaps Daniel Pearl was over-intrusive. A media person should be aware of the dangers of getting into dangerous areas. Unfortunately he got over-involved," he said.
