Vigil stepped up along Indo-Pak border in Rajasthan

Vigil has been stepped up along the international border in Rajasthan after Pakistani rangers fired on Indian security forces killing a Border Security Force assistant commandant in Ganganagar district on Tuesday night, a senior police official said on Wednesday.

All police stations in the border areas have been alerted and those manning them have been asked to keep in touch with the BSF and the army to check any infiltration from across the border, Superintendent of Police Sanjiv Kumar Narzari said.

Pakistani troops resorted to firing to push infiltrators through Rajasthan border on Tuesday for the first time, which is being taken by the Indian security agencies very seriously, official sources said.
