Terming Sino-Indian relations as having 'vastly stabilised', Padmanabhan said unlike ties with Pakistan, New Delhi's relations with Beijing were being conducted in a civilised manner.
During his visit at the head of high-level delegation, the two sides would review the progress made by the Joint Working Group on the boundary issue, he said.
Referring to the recent confidence building measures, the army chief said both the sides had expressed keenness to strictly abide by these.
"The border has been quiet for the past nine years though there may have been transgressions on either side. We are taking up all issues in a civilised manner," he said.
Padmanabhan said both New Delhi and Beijing were committed to holding on to the status quo on the border and leave the resolution of all boundary related issues to across the table talks.
