Pakistan has received intelligence reports of several Al Qaeda terrorists entering the country over the past few days to carry out attacks on the Indian High Commission in Islamabad and embassies of some European countries, the Dawn newspaper reported on Monday.
Quoting an unidentified source, the daily said there are fears that the terrorists may chose August 15, India's Independence Day, to attack its high commission.
The source said the terrorists were also planning to target the Indian consulate building in Karachi some time in August, besides attacking some European embassies in Islamabad.
The United States embassy and the UK and Canadian high commissions too have received threats from terrorist groups.
The terrorists -- 24 belonging to Al Qaeda and 12 from other outfits -- plan to scatter to different Pakistani cities to carry out "their activities," the report said.
