Pak not acting significantly on its pledges: India

Outraged by the Jammu massacre, India on Monday accused Pakistan of not acting significantly on its pledge to permanently end cross-border terrorism and said it would deliberate on all aspects of the situation before working out its future strategy.

"According to the information we have received, it would seem that Pakistan has not acted significantly and to the extent it was expected on its promises to end cross-border terrorism," External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha said.

He said there has been tension in the relations between India and Pakistan for some days now.

"The main reason for this is that Pakistan has been breaking its pledges repeatedly and encouraging cross-border terrorism," he said.

Sinha said because of such encouragement, there has been infiltration of terrorists from across the border and they were indulging in violence and terrorism in this country.

Asked whether India's patience was running out, he said, "We have so far maintained our patience. We will deliberate on all aspects of the situation before working out our future strategy."

On what shape this strategy was expected to take, he said, "I can't disclose the strategy right now."
