The Congress party on Wednesday night ridiculed the reshuffle exercise at the Centre saying that instead of 'giving a facelift' it had added 'new wrinkles' to the Union Cabinet.
"The much-touted Cabinet reshuffle has turned out to be an anti-climax. It has given only new wrinkles to the face of Cabinet far from giving facelift," party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy said.
Stating that the exercise has exposed the chinks in the armour of both the BJP and the NDA, he said unseemly bargaining has marked the entry of Jana Krishnamurthy, while the ejection of Dr C P Thakur has 'left an explosion in Bihar'.
He said the refusal of Keshubhai Patel to join the Cabinet has 'cast a shadow' on the fate of BJP in Gujarat and has 'exposed the party's tall claims' about its internal discipline.
He also said that a 'clash' between Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee and Union Railways Minister Nitish Kumar on the issue of the bifurcation of the Eastern Railways has created an 'inter-state dispute'.
