Nepalese security forces kill 28 Maoists

In continuing operations, Nepalese security forces killed 28 rebels in separate encounters, the defence ministry said in a release on Wednesday.

Ten terrorists were also arrested and arms seized from them.

Fourteen armed rebels were killed in western Nepal on Tuesday, the release said. Eight were killed in Kumal Gaon and Bhartalagna area of Kalikot district, four in Pata Gaon of Bajhang district and two in Thaljung village of Gorkha district, it added.

The security forces also recovered bombs and other weapons from the rebels, which were used by them during the attacks in Mangalsen and Sanphebagar of Achham district recently.
