Former Chandigarh home secretary N K Jain, alleged prime conspirator in the rape case involving a girl from Shimla, has been arrested in Chandigarh.
Jain, elusive for over a month and declared proclaimed offender by a local court, was arrested on Monday evening outside the Central Bureau of Investigation office, the police said.
The police had booked the suspended Haryana cadre bureaucrat in November on charges of hatching a conspiracy to frame a local computer institute owner in the rape of a Shimla-based girl.
Investigations into the alleged rape of the girl by the owner of the computer institute, turned out to be a frame-up engineered by Jain, who was trying to settle scores with the owner.
