Sixteen civilians, including two women, were injured in an improvised explosive device blast in Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

The blast took place when militants triggered a time bomb inside a bar in the main market of Rajouri town.

The blast took place at around 1545 IST, the second strike in the area in as many days, police said.

The injured were rushed to a hospital where their condition is stated to be stable.

Additional police and para-military forces have cordoned off the area and have launched a hunt for the militants.

Militants had on Monday hurled a grenade at the market around 1840 IST injuring five persons.

The strikes on the market area come close on the heels of the beheading of women for allegedly not wearing burqa, and a shopkeeper set on fire for selling narcotics laced cigarettes.
