The Maharashtra State Electricity Board headquarters, Prakashgad, and the adjoining suburban court building located in Bandra in northwest Mumbai were vacated on Thursday morning following a bomb scare, the police said.
"We have cordoned off the entire area, which is very near to the crowded Bandra station and sniffer dogs are already searching for any possible explosive device," the police said.
Those present inside were asked to vacate the multi-storeyed buildings and no injuries were reported, they added.
MSEB officials received an anonymous call at around 11 am stating that a bomb has been planted in the premises as well as in the neighbouring Metropolitan Magistrates' court building, senior police officials from Kherwadi police station said.
MSEB chairman Arunkumar Mago was also present at the site taking stock of the situation.
