Vajpayee, Bush to meet in New York
on September 12

Vajpayee is scheduled to have discussions with Bush on September 12 (2200 IST) shortly after the US president addresses the 189-member General Assembly.

The prime minister will address the assembly on September 13 and will be the ninth speaker in the morning session.

He is also expected to have a series of bilateral meetings and discussions with various leaders during his stay.

On the evening of September 11, Vajpayee will attend a memorial ceremony on the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

Prior to that, he will participate in a roundtable discussion being organised jointly by the Asia Society and Council for Foreign Relations.

The Indian ambassador to the US will give a reception to the prime minister on September 13 evening. The next day he will attend a reception at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

He will leave for home on September 15.

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf is slated to address the General Assembly on September 12 in the morning session.

Pakistani sources say that he may address a press conference after the address.
